Pavel Datsyuk To Miss Four Weeks With Broken Hand

Pavel Datsyuk To Miss Four Weeks With Broken Hand

Detroit Red Wings fans groaned in unison Wednesday when star center, Pavel Datsyuk, went down hard and landed awkwardly on his right arm during the 1st period. With 12 goals and 27 assists, Datsyuk was the leading Red Wings scorer. He will be sorely missed for the next four weeks.

The Red Wings have endured numerous injuries. They are also without Mike Modano, who severed a tendon and will likely be out until just before playoffs, although a definitive date has not been determined. The 40-year-old center has scored two goals and eight points in 20 games for the Red Wings. Detroit currently leads the Western Conference by one point, so the combined loss could be significant.
