Little Bruins – Learn to Play Program

Little Bruins – Learn to Play Program

There are many perks to working in the hockey equipment industry. We often get to see unreleased product months before the public, we benefit from awesome discounts on gear, and we roll hard with dual monitors here in the office, but most of us are in the industry simply because we love the game.

Passing the awesomeness of hockey onto the next generation (and the feeling of doing one’s part to grow the greatest game in the world) has always been the most rewarding part of this industry. Outfitting a youngster that may go on to love the game for the rest of his/her life is a great feeling, and think about it – they could grow up to be the next “Great One”! But whether a kid goes on to be the next Gretzky or simply an avid hockey fan, either way, it’s a win in our book.

Little Bruins! Brought to you by CCM, Friendly's, the Boston Bruins, Massachusettes Hockey, and yours truly. 😉

The Little Bruins – Learn to Play Hockey program is a chance for aspiring youth, who may have always wanted to give ice hockey a try but may not have been able to front the often large startup cost, to get outfitted by professionals with everything they need to hit the ice – and all at a fraction of normal costs!

For the heavily discounted price of only $100 ($360 retail value) your future all-star will receive everything he/she needs to get started, including:

  • Helmet
  • Shoulder Pads
  • Elbow Pads
  • Gloves
  • Pants

  • Shin Guards
  • Equipment Bag
  • Mouth Guard
  • Hockey Socks
  • Hockey Stick
  • Ice Skates
  • Little Bruins jersey

All fittings will be done at our MonkeySports Superstore in Norwood, MA on Sunday, October 12. Along with a sweet CCM setup, participants will receive four weeks of on-ice training from certified Massachusetts Hockey instructors. The program is available to boys and girls ages 5-8 and will be held and six rinks across Massachusetts. Please note, it is highly recommend that players have a few ice sessions under their belts prior to their first lesson. Public skate sessions are a great way to make sure your little one has a certain level of familiarity and comfort on the ice before taking that next step.

This will be the second Learn to Play Hockey event that MonkeySports has had the honor of being a part of. Earlier this year, we were able to host a similar “Lil’ Kings – Learn to Play Hockey event, where we had nearly 500 youngsters professionally fitted and ready for their upcoming ice times. While all spots for Little Bruins filled up almost immediately, we hope to be part of many more Learn to Skate events in the future. With superstores going up in both Colorado and Texas, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a Little Aves or Little Stars event real soon. Would you like to see a Learn to Skate program in your home town? Comment below and let us know!

P.S. A big “Thank you” to our partners: CCM Hockey, the Boston Bruins, Friendly’s, Massachusetts Hockey and all who made this event possible. See you Sunday!
